Nothing
to eat or drink after midnight unless you are instructed
otherwise.
You
may brush your teeth in the a.m., but being careful
not to swallow water.
If
you are a diabetic on insulin, do not take your morning
dose, as you will not be eating or drinking. Make sure
you bring your insulin with you to the hospital.
Do
not take any medications unless they are blood pressure
meds, heart meds, seizure meds, or asthma meds.
If you need to take the above listed medications take
with only a small dose of water (1-2 ounces).
Call
the hospital if you are taking asa, coumadin, or blood
thinners, or if you develop a cough, cold, or flu-like
symptoms 48 hours prior to surgery.
Do
not consume any alcoholic beverages 72 hours prior to
scheduled surgery time.
You
must bring a driver.
Do
not wear contact lenses of any kind. You may bring your
lens in the case for later.
Wear
loose fitting comfortable clothing.
Do
not wear nail polish on your fingernails or toenails.
Do
not wear jewelry.
Do
not wear makeup.
