2005 - Dr. Gonzalez' surgery
is published in the Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery
The
Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery recently
published an original research article lead-authored
by Dr. Gonzalez detailing the results of a new
type of surgical correction for hallux
rigidus problems at the big toe joint.
"The
Modified Hohmann Osteotomy: an alternative joint
salvage procedure for hallux rigidus" detailed
25 procedures, of which 96% related 'excellent'
subjective ratings, and we were able to increase
limited upward motion of the big toe from 17
degrees preoperatively to 58 degrees following
the procedure.
Dr.
Gonzalez continues to use this surgery as one
of his options for treating hallux
rigidus.
